During his early practice years, Dr. Masci investigated several treatment approaches. As his practice skills matured, he focused on a more conservative approach with all his patients. He recognized that medical decisions must be based on scientific principles to yield rapid positive outcomes, a prompt return to work, and reduced medical interventions while avoiding patient-doctor dependence.

Dr. Masci's primary responsibility as an expert examiner is to seek and report the truth. He accomplishes this by developing an understanding of an individual's medical condition and mechanism of injury. He reviews the claimant's pre and post-injury medical records, applies causation science principles, opines on the questions asked, and when available, quotes current evidence-based literature to support his conclusions.

Dr. Masci continues to practice at his chiropractic practice of 49 years to pursue his passion in helping his patients and consultees to understand their routes to better function. In 2007 he became an above knee amputee (he uses a prosthesis) which uniquely deepened his understanding of impairment and disability issues. His own physical impairment has informed his independent attitude quite comprehensively.
